Carla Bruni, the lovely and beautiful Italian-French ex-super model, now singer and First French Lady is also the first in record sales since the release on July 11th of her new singing album 'Comme si de rien n'était' (translated as 'As if nothing had happened').

Carla Bruni apparently wrote the lyrics of the new songs partly before she met French President Nicolas Sarkozy and partly since they fell in love.

Very popular in the world now, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy (that is her official name) is also on the front cover of the September 2008 issue of Vanity Fair Magazine, and you can read 'Carla Bruni, the new Jackie O?'.

CAPRICORN CARLA BRUNI

Reuters also has an interesting article about the comparison between Carla Bruni and Jackie Onassis and you can read it here.

Carla Bruni is a first decan Capricorn (born on December 23rd) with her Sun at 1 degree 11’ of Capricorn, and in her case, transiting Pluto -the planet of power par excellence – saw 'the rise' of Carla Bruni. Pluto is currently conjunct to her natal Capricorn Sun and has been residing in this sign since January of this year - until June, during this time she tied the knot with French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

To read more about Carla Bruni’s background and relationship with President Nicolas Sarkozy, and to view her chart, please refer to my post of February 3rd.

CAPRICORN INGRID BETANCOURT

Now, here’s another first decan Capricorn who has 'rise' to more power and international popularity lately: The French-Colombian politician Ingrid Betancourt who was held captive for six and a half years in the hands of Colombian rebel group, the FARC. She was released on July 2nd while transiting Mars – planet of action – was conjunct to her natal Uranus (4th) – among other astrological factors.

Interestingly, Ingrid Betancourt was born on December 25th with her Sun at 3 degrees of Capricorn with a close Mars-Mercury conjunction, giving her mental and physical strength, resistance and stamina. She endured years of torture and bad treatment in the dangerous Colombian jungle. Not being able to speak or see her teenage children or husband must have been alienating.

Transiting Pluto – the planet of power and deep and profound transformation - is conjunct to her Capricorn Sun and trine to her natal Uranus-Pluto conjunction, giving her extra strength, resistance and stamina.

I was personally moved to tears when I heard her speech LIVE on French TV. Bravo Ingrid for your courage, bravo for your strength of character!

On Bastille Day i.e. July 14th, Ingrid Betancourt was presented with France’s highest award: The Legion of Honor.

Hi Claire, I'm Micki. On Aug 23 you posted a comment to my Squid Lens -- Astrology and Prediction. Thanks for the comment. I posted a response -- then it occurred to me that you can only see it if you re-visit, so I'll paste it here. I wrote: "Thanks for the comment and the "heads-up" on your blog. I visited it and like it. I'll be checking in regularly. I tried to start an astrology blog, but found out very quickly that I really don't have that much to say about it unless I'm in a one-on-one conversation about it. Maybe I'm just not a writer. Anyway, thanks again. Micki" I'm going to delete my response on the lens (not your comment, just my response) but I want to add your blog to my Favorite Sites Links on the lens. Hope that's OK with you. Love this blog - I'm a fan!
