Michael Phelps Olympic Record

At only 23 years of age, Michael Phelps is the most decorated Olympic athlete of all time, and the greatest swimmer ever.
Michael Phelps, a Cancer, was born on June 30th, 1985 in Baltimore, Maryland, U.S. His time of birth is not known.
CANCER MICHAEL PHELPS
In his natal chart, both his Sun and Mars were 'eclipsed' at birth i.e. the Sun was parallel Mars in the declinations and the Sun is also conjunct to Mars in Cancer, a Water sign. Mars (the drive, the energy) in this sign opposes Neptune (water) in Capricorn. The Sun-Mars influence as well as the Sun-Pluto trine gives him extra strength and energy, determination and physical stamina as well as assertiveness, the will to win and a natural desire to compete with others (Mars).
His natal Neptune also opposes the U.S. natal Venus suggesting he may be idolized, may get idealistic feelings from American fans. His natal Cancerian Sun is also conjunct to the U.S. fortunate natal Venus-Jupiter-Sun conjunction in this sign, indicating great popularity, luck, enthusiasm, feelings of joy and happiness from the U.S.
Transiting Jupiter in Capricorn is currently standing opposite his natal Mars (sports, physical stamina) in Cancer, an indication Michael Phelps may come to a critical culmination, gain more exposure and become enormously energetic (Mars/Jupiter). Transiting Saturn is currently sextile his natal Sun (until August 18th) suggesting that he may receive recognition for his efforts. By August 24th, transiting Sun sextile his natal Pluto, giving him an opportunity for a leadership role.

One of the most revealing factors is the fact his Progressed Sun has just moved into the successful sign of Leo. A major change in the Progression is always a sign of a major change of lifestyle, attitude and even psychological profile to some extent. He will certainly become more 'centred', happier about himself and his way of life.
It is a sure indication that Michael Phelps is entering a phase where he will be more successful in everything he does, more flamboyant and may develop into a more powerful figure, gaining more power and influence.
It is his time; a time for success; a time to reach for the stars.
Update 16/08/08: Michael Phelps has now won 8 Olympic Gold medals and has beaten Mark Spitz's record.
